Rakennetaan kaupunki! collaborates with Onerva Mäen koulu (special education) and with Alvar Aalto Museum making the project “Rakennetaan koulu! / Let´s build the school!”.
Rakennetaan kaupunki! Jyväskylä project 2013-14: Opera (Premiere: April 8th) + exhibition (April 4th-May 4th) + workshop of architecture (all kids who see the opera make the workshop) + seminary on opera education in schools (April 9th).
Opera composer: Sanna Ahvenjärvi and Tapio Lappalainen. Libretto: students. Edition libretto: Jenni Kinnunen. Baritone: Paavo Nisula. Singers and actors: students, teachers and assistants of Onerva school. String Quartet: Academus. Teacher of dance: Elli Pulkkinen-Jyväskylän Tanssiopisto. Teacher of graphic design: Jyrki Markkanen. Director: Jorge Raedó. Producer: Anna Rombach. The opera has two dramaturgic lines: (1) students what to build the new school building, (2) Alvar Aalto.
